We bought the van in 1990 from a couple in Seaton who had been forced by illness to give up their travel plans. It had then done 9000 miles. We have only added 40,000 miles in the ensuing 21 years! The van has been well looked after and has much original equipment including carpets (which have been protected by the offcut pieces as seen in photos) and the supplied crockery! There is a full history of service, parts replaced and bodywork renovations. Only changes to original spec. are: addition of an auxiliary battery; a removeable RDS radio/cassette; replacement of sliding bed base above (for two small people) by a beech retaining 'front' which provides much additional storage space (sliding base was retained and can be put back at any time); addition of a small 'table' around the gear lever and a hinged shelf between the seats. Otherwise the vehicle is as supplied with: twin burner hob & grill; 3-way fridge; water heater; shower/toilet facility; sink etc. I can send original brochure as a pdf file. I can also send further photos showing the various eating and sleeping configurations. In addition to the lengthwise (full area) sleeping set-up, it is possible for two to slepp sideways (best if under 5'8" though). There are two tables, two table positions and the front passenger seat swivels round.

With a van of this age, it became difficult to obtain some spares for a time. However, we then discovered No.1 Gear in Chard who have found new sources of many items known to be weaknesses e.g. headlamps, window operating systems and also break old models. With their help, we have had no trouble passing the MoT every year. This year I had a problem with the electric fan not cutting in when we got hot in a traffic jam; they supplied me with a replacement radiator switch.

The van needs more use than we can give it and we have reluctantly decided to part with it now rather than see it sit in the barn for months on end (it has been kept under cover) and perhaps not hit the road again until 2012. We've just had a trip to Scotland and the van behaved itself impeccably. It seems to cruise along the motorway at a comfortable 60-65 and it doesn't use any oil to speak of. Fuel consumption is depressing by modern standards (low twenties when fully laden) but it is still a cheap way to travel when compared with the alternatives.

The water heater is currently out of action due to my failing to drain all the water out of it before last winter; I'll get a new diaphragm and fix this before selling. Also, I have taken the shower out as it was never very brilliant and the head attachment leaked. We found showering in the van was just too much hassle and have got into the habit of staying at a 'proper' site every other night at least. However, it would be easy to reinstate a new shower if required.

Extras: I think I've covered everything in 'Full description' but please email for anything else you'd like to know.
