This is a lightweight four berth caravan, ideal for a couple or those with one/two children. The internal length of the caravan is 3.9 Metres (Outside the length is 18ft / 5.4 Metres, and approx 1.9M wide). This caravan is very lightweight, with a Maximum technical permissible laden mass of 1100KG. Its un-laden weight is between 870 – 900 KG. The caravan was purchased to be pulled by a Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDi.
I purchased the caravan from Selston Caravans, who explained that this is one of ten custom made caravans based on the Adria Unica chassis. The ten were made to a special order from Selston Caravans who were the main dealer for the East Midlands Area until 2008. Each of the ten was made to a slightly different specification, using top quality parts as listed below.
To the front there is a family dining area, which makes into a comfortable double bed. There are two box storage areas, beneath. One has a leisure battery container, the other the Truma water heater (240V only). Above, there are two shelves running along the sides, with three overhead lockers to the front. There is a main light over the table, and two reading lights – all can be powered from battery or 240V. There is a double electric socket under the table, and a four strip block on the bulkhead for easy access. There is a large window to the front, and a further two to the sides. Each has black out roller blinds, and nets. There are decorative (non closing) curtains to all three windows. The front window has a fly net.
Looking towards the rear of the van, the kitchen is to the left, with a three ring burner, and a Dometic Fridge (with Freezer compartment) under. There is also a kitchen sink with three drawers under (hot water only on 240V sites). There are two overhead cupboards, and two shelves above. There is also a kitchen work light above the cooker, and an opening window behind the cooker (this has a venetian blind). There is a single electric socket to the front of the unit (above the drawers) and a double electric socket on the end of the unit.
Still looking towards the rear of the van, there is a wardrobe to the right (above the Truma gas heater). This is a good size, and we have fitted three removable shelves which we find more appropriate than hanging space. The fuse box and 12V Transformer is in this cupboard. Behind the wardrobe is the bathroom, with a Thetford cassette toilet and sink, plus lots of useful storage areas. The taps here pull out on a flexible hose to make a shower, and the floor doubles as a shower tray.
The rear of the caravan is amazingly flexible. There is a small dinette that comfortably seats two, with box storage under each seat. This makes into a single bed, which can be used by an adult. Above there are three overhead lockers. However, these lockers can fold down, to become the fourth bed. This is only usable by a light person (up to about 60Kg). There is a wall that pulls out, to block off this back portion of the caravan which is great when the little ones go to bed!
Outside the caravan has two good tyres (There is also an unused spare). We have had an ALKO stabiliser fitted. This has an integral hitch lock. There is also an SAS wheel lock. There is a 12v light to the side of the caravan (where the awning fits), and also a 240V external power point in a weatherproof outlet. The services are to the other side (toilet, electric and TV point) and the front (gas and water). A Pyramid Products Tuscany awning (in Blue) is included in the sale – no groundsheet.
