Description:
We purchased our Burstner caravan in France in 2003. We chose to buy a Burstner (a French/German make) for the following reasons:
Solid German build quality & it looks good.
Very good insulation qualities since they are popular with German skiers for Winter holidays.
Extremely strong floor
The only make with solid house type table and kitchen worktops.
Top quality highly durable interior with excellent materials, hinges & fittings
Cosy and convenient continental layout (U-shape dining-room, fixed bed with basin and mirror + folding coffee table above the bed and nets for complete privacy)
Attractive and modern interiors and fabrics with a top quality fixed double bed, and another double available in the diner.
Overall, the build & quality is a level above any English caravan, we know this as fact after getting to know other caravanners. One couple traded in their new English caravan, which was already diagnosed with damp from a leaky body, & had many loosened cupboard hinges causing them to sag. They were so impressed with ours that they bought a new Burstner & were delighted with the quality. We also know of floors that go soft & need re-laminating after little use & many fragile fittings that fall off.
Most other quality caravans have soft, hollow bench & table tops that easily dent with use & screws cannot stay attached because of their low density. Interior hinges are also poor, so interiors of many caravans wear quickly.
Burstners & Hymers do not leak due to the advanced technology in manufacturing them.
Spare parts prices are low due to the huge numbers produced compared to an English manufacturer.
Both the bodywork and interior of our caravan are in excellent condition, with immaculate dent free bodywork. The shower is unused and its full-length awning brand new. It has been converted to English electrical spec (invoice and certification provided). It also has 2 roof windows, blinds and mosquito nets. Apologies for lack of outside photos as I forgot to take pictures before our caravan had been parked in between trees and another caravan. Ill know next time!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our 5 years of caravanning and found our caravan most cosy and pleasant to be in, even down to minus 7 in winter. The reason why we are selling it is that we have just had a baby and dont intend to go caravanning for a while.
