Description:

Elddis Avantι 556 for £7895.00 - Year of Manufacture 2005

A beautiful looked after caravan which has many years of pleasure and holidays to come.
This caravan has been absolutely ideal for our family, the fixed bunks in the rear have been a godsend, especially when arriving late at a campsite and the kids are tired, with
beds already made up, giving us time and space to get set up.
The layout of this caravan is very spacious and its hard to believe its only a single axle. There are ample storage compartments, such as
• 8 overhead lockers
• double wardrobe
• large storage cupboard (base unit)
• full height storage with 5 shelves (narrow) at the bunk end
• storage nooks and crannys in the toilet area
• 2 x double length under seat storage
• 2 x single length under seat storage
• large front locker
• 'garage' area to the rear - lower bunk raises to allow storage in tow - can be accessed from the outside
• 3 drawer cupboard in front lounge area
• compartment under oven
ALL cupboards latches and locks (where applicable) are in full working order, and although it may not be much of a feature, handles are in a really modern stainless steel (a nice touch!).
The rear bunks are suitable for children and the upper bunk can hold a person up to around 11 stones. Each bunk has its own light. The lower bunk has a fixed window and blind. The upper bunk has a opening window, flyscreen and blind. The upper bunk also has a nook big enough for books, small tv and has a power point and ariel socket. The 2 bunks have their own privacy curtain.
The addition bunks are located at the side. During the day its a single sized dinette and then converts into two bunks. We have not used this bunk since we have owned the caravan. There is a privacy curtain that wraps around the entire bunk set. Again the upper bunk holds up to about 11 stones. There is a light fitting to the upper bunk area.
The front lounge converts into a double or as two singles. Cushions are in immaculate order throughout the caravan and have not sunk or warped. Above the lounge area are Zoe eyeball reading lights and 2 switch ambience lights. There are 12 lights within the whole van, including a awning light outside. All lights are in working order.
Rooflights - there is a large heki rooflight to the front of the caravan, a small extractor rooflight in the kitchen area, another small rooflight near the rear bunks and finally one small rooflight in the toilet. All clips are in tact as well as the blinds and fly screens. no rips or tears.
The kitchen area, comprises of a Thetford N80p 80ltr fridge and a Prima mark 3 Oven with Chinchilla glass cover to hob. There is also a Argent stainless steel sink with a Chinchilla glass cover and chrome taps. Between the fridge and the oven is a small storage cupboard and drawer. There is a window above the sink and a fire extinguisher to the right of the oven. The caravan is fitted with a smoke alarm.
The wood work in the whole of the caravan is Montreal Maple. very light and modern.
The toilet/shower albeit small is functional, has a Whale shower unit, Thetford cassette toilet and lots of storage.
The heating system is blown air, Truma Ultraheat and hot water is stored by Trauma Ultrastore. Heating in perfect working order - there are 4 vents around the van for hot air and one outside for awning.
The carpet is fixed and is beigy/cream but is immaculate with no stains (I kept it covered under runner). There is a fixed welcome mat at main door. Main door is stable type and has a window with blind and a door bin.
Windows - the windows are double glazed flush fit windows. They are slightly tinted. All door catches and locks are in tact and there are no cracks in windows at all. All blinds are tensioned well and are in working order. Non of the flynets are ripped. There is a large flynet to the main door.
The exterior of the van - to my knowledge there is one thumb print sized ding to the whole of the outside panel. Everything else is mint. The van has stainless steel grab handles to the rear and front, an outside plug socket and a outside gas bbq outlet. As mentioned above there is a rear door for accessing the 'garage' area.
So you probably want to know
1. What's wrong with it.......
I want to be honest as possible, this is a lot of money you may be parting with and I want to treat people how I would like to be treated.....so there are four things wrong with the van...
• there is a pea sized mark on the base unit top, where a tin fell out the cupboard and dinged the top. it has been filled but I estimate its about 5mm round.
• where the bathroom door opens onto the fire, over time there is a patch of veneer that has fluffed up, its not cracked or peeled, it is hardly noticeable
• last year sometime when I put the van into storage I put all the hair shampoo etc into the sink. Something leaked and stained and puckered the sink unit. It has not perforated the sink but it is a mark about 2 inches long.
• finally, when we came back from holiday last year our fridge stopped working. We took it to a caravan servicer (Homestead Sept 09) to do a diagnostic check on it. Apparently something has gone on the electrical side of the fridge, it works perfectly on both gas and battery, but does not work on electric. For someone electrical you may be able to fix it but I feel you should be aware of this. As I said I am being up front with what I know is wrong.
2. Why are you selling it?
It just simply we want a smaller caravan. We aim to tour in France and my husband would like something lighter and smaller to tow. We also have an issue with getting the van on and off our drive (you will see when you come to view or collect) so if we had a smaller van it would help. I would love to keep it but I'm thinking with my heart rather than my head.
3. Are we dealers?
No we are not, we are a genuine family selling our van. You can ask me anything you want and we will try to answer. We are happy for you to come and view, check everything out and have a chat, its a good opportunity for me to have a cuppa in the van! We will have the water barrells on so you can test water, heaters, lights etc. As you can see from the pics, we have all paperwork for the caravan, including CRIS Reg (see pic). If you can not read number, you can email me as I am happy to share the reg number if you would like to do a HPI check. I can assure you its not stolen or a write off but I understand that there is some risk to buying private. The pictures may show that it looks stored in a dealers, but in fact we store in a local farm (due to drive problems) but will be at our home when you view (so we won't ask you to part with money at some random location).
4. What are the payment arrangements?
Once a deal has been agreed - you can leave a small holding deposit until you are ready to collect. Payment to be made in cash only.

The caravan will be in pristine condition when you collect.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE SELLING THE CARAVAN WITH JUST THE ELECTRIC HOOKUP as we need all the other stuff for our next caravan.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via email for further information - technical stuff etc. If you want to view we are located in Harwich, Essex (Suffolk Borders)
