Buccaneer Caravans was founded in 1968 in Full Sutton in the East Riding of Yorkshire by DW Shipley, who was formerly with Abbey and Lissett, and caravan enthusiast NG Harrison. Buccaneer Caravans was sold to the Explorer Group in 1999 and Buccaneer caravans are still manufactured today.
Buccaneer build high quality Clubman caravans. They first started producing Clubman caravans in 1969 when they launched their first 12 foot tourer. All their modern caravans are 4 berth. Today they build the Clipper and Fluyt with twin beds and sofa beds, and the Corsair, Caravel and Schooner which have a double bed and 2 sofa beds.
Their company slogan is "Luxury beyond compare". They claim that Buccaneer caravans are the "most luxurious touring caravan in the UK". Their caravans provide more features than any other and each caravan is expertly crafted. Modern Buccaneers include features such as tiled effect shower cubicles, satellite television, motorized roof lights and a proper ceramic toilet.
