A jockey wheel is a jack-type mechanism (with wheel attached to one end) used to guide (or ‘jockey’) a caravan into position ready for towing. It’s also used for manoeuvring a caravan when not attached to your tow vehicle, and to level your caravan when pitching up.
There are commonly two types of jockey wheel available. Pneumatic/air-pumped jockey wheels are easier to move across all surfaces and offer good support on soft ground, whereas rubber/solid jockey wheels are cheaper and offer good support on hard ground, but can be tough work moving on surfaces like mud and gravel.
Jockey wheels usually fitted to the side or through the middle of the A Block.
