Lunar specialise in lightweight and affordable caravans. They were founded in 1969, the name being inspired by the lunar landings of that year. The Lunar ethos has always been to build lightweight, high quality caravans with luxurious interiors.
Lunar Caravans was sold in 1990's to a European manufacturer, but the management, led by Chairman and CEO, Brian Mellor, bought the company back in 2007.
They have two ranges, the Lunar range with 21 models and the Venus range with 4 models. The Lunar range includes the more luxurious models, such as the Ariva, Quasar and Stellar. The Venus range are extra-lightweight and compact are some of the most affordable caravans in the UK today. Venus are ideal for the more casual caravanner as their lightweight means that they can be towed by just about can vehicle.
Lunar Caravans have won several awards over the years, most recently winning the Practical Caravan Tourer of the Year Award 2013 for the Venus 500/4. At the Caravan Club Awards 2013 the Venus 380/2 won the Lightweight Leisure Trailer Award for caravans between 750 kg and 1090 kg and the Venus 500/4 had won the Caravan Design Awards for caravans under £14000.
